“We can’t see what the future holds but we can prepare for it”*
PHILIPPE BONNAVE
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bouygues Construction
The world is changing, and every day we are working to change it in a responsible and committed way.
In 2020, nothing went as planned. It took a great deal of courage, humanity and a sense of responsibility to face the many challenges we encountered. Thanks to the unfailing commitment of every individual, and the exceptional resilience and determination of all, our group has emerged stronger than before. We still have many challenges to come. In addition to the expertise of our talented staff, our key strengths in responding to these challenges lie in the innovation we share with our partners, and in the partnership with enjoy with our customers and the people who use our buildings. In this way we hope to make a collective contribution to creating sustainable spaces. To address the climate emergency, we are committed to taking the next step and have set ambitious targets to reduce our direct and indirect carbon emissions by 2030. Environmental considerations and energy efficiency should systematically guide the design, construction and operation of our buildings. The digitisation of our activities can also help, particularly if sharing data in real time with all parties concerned supports co-production. The contribution of Big Data, AI and even the robotisation of our activities will help to improve efficiency and safety for those working on our construction sites, as well as reducing the environmental impact of our operations. The same goes for off-site prefabrication, and the use of natural materials such as wood and low-carbon concrete. As well as boosting simplicity and productivity, these will help to make our buildings more sustainable. With this resolutely innovative approach in the new world that is emerging, we will build our future together.
